Beauty And The Beast at Thrivent Hall

Beauty and The Beast, the musical, debuted on Broadway back in 1994. There's no reason to sugarcoat this, it was bested because of the success of the Lion King. Over the years, there have been various attempts to take the story back into the premium theater scene. After an amazing run in London's West End, and an extensive tour of Australia, this new version is going on a US tour. One of the stops will luckily be in Appleton, Wisconsin on Thursday 23rd October 2025.

In previous iterations of the show, the design of the set and the colors of the costumes were both kind of dark. This put a lot of weight on The Beast character. This new version is taking a completely different approach. The emphasis is more on Belle, as it should be. This time around, the audience is greeted with thoughtfully designed backgrounds and bright costumes that light up the stage. When you pair that with the jolly soundtrack, you can see why both the British and Australian audiences loved this revival. Sorry for the spoilers, but the bright entrance that Belle's character and the different members of her French village have, is the perfect counterpart to The Beast's world. What happened in both the UK and Australia was that people were incredibly hooked by this point in the show. Gaston's introduction and musical number tend to be fan favorites. It's truly Belle that the story revolves around though, and for this US Tour they've hired a great actress for the role.
