Hamilton at Thrivent Hall

After showings in the world’s most popular theaters including Broadway itself and London’s West End, Hamilton will now also be on tour for a limited season this winter in Thrivent Financial Hall At Fox Cities Performing Arts Center of Appleton, an especially renowned entertainment venue acclaimed for its leading amenities fit to host world-class productions and musicals.

Hamilton honors the life of Alexander Hamilton, written and scored by the multi-talented Lin-Manuel Miranda, basing it off the 2004 biography of Ron Chernow. It retells the historical times of Hamilton himself in a ‘hipper’ manner, remaining faithful to the facts behind his life but with artistic flair and musical scoring that makes this Musical very entertaining. Hamilton originally began off Broadway in the late summer of 2015 and was quickly met with spectacular reviews from its opening night. Along with a number of press articles and reviewers, The Washington Post, called it “making ecstatic history”, as the Musical’s premiere with its spectacular cast which included the likes of Lin-Manuel Miranda himself in the lead role and Tony Award winner Jonathan Groff, impressed audiences in its premiere with a vibrant production. Hamilton went on over the next 10 years to win eleven Tony Awards from sixteen nominations, as well as Olivier, Grammy, and Pulitzer Prize Awards.

Ever since its debut, Hamilton has toured to perform in numerous locations around the globe, where it has been getting continuously positive reviews. In London’s West End, TimeOut mentions their worry behind Hamilton being overhyped, but that “Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical about Alexander Hamilton, the first secretary of the U.S. Treasury, is actually better than the hype suggests”. Additionally, recently the touring cast in its Manila, Philippines’ performance, PEP PH describes the Musical as a “visual and sensory feast that adds layers of depth to the narrative”; “This musical is a masterpiece not because it tells a flawless story, but because it brilliantly captures the essence of the imperfect human experience, and in doing so, it achieves perfection on the stage”, they add.
